8mb Boradband????

Just had an email from my provider NDO, to advise me that my line, they think, is capable of handling 8mb. They have advised me for the same price I am currently paying i can upgrade to 8mb from 2mb for a 1 off charge of £14.99. Now will i actually see any noticable difference from 2-8mb? do you actually get anywhere near 8mb? At the mo I get as near as damn 2mb have been well impressed with my ISP from day 1. Any way of doing a line test to check the qulity of your line? Me thinks for £14.99 one off i cant really go wrong anyway!?

even if you can only get a few meg more surely £15 is worth it?

Look on www.samknows.com for your local exchange and calculate your distance from it (bear in mind that will be as the crow flies not through a maze of wires in streets). I was 1.5km from mine and managed to get around 5Mb even on a noisey line.

then f**k me, you'll probably get around 6-6.5, maybe even 7. I'd pay £15 for that.

Yes it will make a noticeable difference with downloads etc... £15 is worth it for a one off for extra megs.
