Well the 330 hit the big 200k this morning. She's still going strong and hopefully for many more miles.

They are brilliant motors. Aslong as it's maintained it should just keep going. I do 400+ miles a week with no issues.

best I ever got out of my 320d was 55 mpg. That was on a long slow motorway journey on a Friday afternoon (I should have known better than to get on the motorway at that time of week).

Usually I'd get somewhere between 35 and 40 with just local driving which would rise to 45 ish on a run. I would regularly get 600 mile from a tank.

Then I got an M3 and things changed somewhat.

Lol when first got the 330 I wasn't doing anywhere near the mileage I am now. But ahh well it's only money 😂

That is really good to hear. I prob do around 300 miles a week in my 330. I absolutely love it, spec, noise, comfort, colour, heated seats now it's cold!

The only box it does not tick is the fuel economy one 😂 but I did not buy it for that! I have had up to 32mpg on a long run. Its done 120k and still feels so smooth.

I keep thinking of buying something boring and economical. Then I drive it and think nah!

I must have a really heavy foot or something, sometimes it goes through £20 of diesel as quick as the Clio goes though super unleaded and I boot that thing, it is good when you just sit back and chill on motorway run though.

I had a black touring auto, a grey manual 6 speed saloon. Which I regret selling all the time. Also had a blue auto saloon. Never had any real big issues with them.

Nice car.

200k miles is good. Its the age old argument of high miles means nothing if well looked after.

I also wonder what miles you could get out of a new car, like what is the newest car that would reach +200k miles comfortably. I just have a feeling they are not built to last nowadays. My E34 has lasted very well (yes it might be kept under a cover in a garage and rarely used!). But will I see 30 years/120k miles out of my daily M140i?

I reckon most new cars will make 200k with proper servicing. Sadly it’s just own a car for 2 years and hand back with no servicing or looking after it so inevitably they won’t last

I've just bought a 2003 E46 320d. One owner from new, old boy has done around 11.5k a year, serviced every year. Its just ticked over 200k

Interesting thread! There seems to be a lot of love for BMW here! I've never had the pleasure. Much as I love Renault I think its fair to say anything German is well made. For me the MPG of a 330 makes it a bit too rich for a daily driver though - I'll stick with my '02 Focus 1.6 - only on 134k and drives perfectly!!

Thought I would update this thread. Car is still going well. Due to furlough the mileage I'm doing is nowhere near what I was doing before. It's only on 207k now. I've replaced a few bits a long the way. Just before lockdown I got the clutch and flywheel changed along with a service. Then had the propshaft rebuilt. And after not driving it for a few days. The coolant pine burst 😂. Sadly it will be up for sale in a few months. Buy buy what a car it's been. Here's some more recent pics.

This still going @Craig ?

Got a notification on photos which shows 4 years since it went !
Hi mate. I've been meaning to post an update. But not really had chance. After ordering a mobility car in August it was only gonna take 6 weeks to come. But ford went on a shutdown and parts were on shortage. But then in February got a phone call to say they've finally got a car for us. So the BMW was already in for an MOT.

Well it failed on a few things. Nothing major. My mate said he would buy it as it is. On the 15th of February picked up our new car and the bmw is at my mates garage waiting to go to Lithuania. So it's the end of BMW ownership. Here's the new car.

No way!! Is it yours now??
Yep! Found it on autotrader and whilst researching it, found this thread. Went up to Solihull to get it and it’s now going to be moving from Southampton to SW London for the next few months then it’ll stay in London. It’s on 218k and still runs amazing, couple of electrical issues and I’m scared there could be a bit of a head gasket problem but I need to spend good time investigating and fixing issues. I plan to take great care of it and keep it feeling young :) Onwards to 300k 🚀

Lol. I thought it had left the country. It was running awesome when I sold it. Hopefully it serves you well.
