A bit gutted .....

Just found out today that the place i work will no longer be able to provide me with a car parking space, and there is no where else to park near work . So from now on Monday to Friday Im going to have to bus it or cycle it to work!! Is there any point in keeping my cup?? I will only be able to use it on weekends and its £220 a month!

I know this feeling mate - what about parking somewhere as near as you can get and jumping on a bus for the remaining journey to work?

If my employer did that I would be handing my notice in or if I really needed the job Id buy a moped/motorbike but Id still keep the car for social.

There would be point because the bus journey itself from my house only takes 15-20 minutes and the bus stop is right outside. I really dont want to get rid of the car cos i love it so much, i just dont know if a 2 day a week car outways the cost per month.

Toypop, I cant jack my job in cos i have a mortgage etc, they said they are not legally obliged to provide me with a space!

i bike it 20 minutes to work every day as i see it as a waste of money driving

Ride a pushbike, drop your annual mileage down on the insurance and reap the fuel cost savings... thats what Im about to do hopefully

I dont use my car during the week for work for the same reasons due to no secure parking at work. Get a 200 quid sh#tbox and use that instead.

dont you need to use it other than work tho, u must have chances to drie it during the weekdays.

i dont use mine, only at weekends, or sometimes even every other weekend! its costing me £241 a month, or acutally £1241 a month at the moment cos I am saving to pay it off.

i used to use my works van to and from work, and only take the clios out on weekends and for meets and it cost me more than that a month............surely you will use it on evenings and weekends etc, not hard to justify £200-odd quid a month surely?

I park a mile away from work and walk the rest. Better than the bus/metro.

Cheaper, quicker, cleaner, more reliable.

Plus the mile I walk is the only exercise I do.

yeah ride a push bike, think about it, no chance of door dings and less fuel costs,

i would keep it just for weekends.

im having to get bus into work an all mate cum july no where to parkwith my new job. im keeping my 172 and just thinkin of the benefit of savng loadsa money on petrol and keeping miles off it as it has very low mileage for its age already!

Yous have reasurred me that it will definately be worth keeping! I will be able to keep it in perfect condition by only using it the odd weekday and weekends ... dont know what i was thinking!! ... mmm saved petrol money = more mods !
