The story..
Well been a tough few months for me as debts and low pays have really kept me to the bare minimums...

So it all started when one day afetr my girlfriends dad bought and did a punto up for her, broke it in to see if it was all ok on way to work. It broke on way back. So i offered to help, on way home towing got to second last corner and because it was near enough a U-turn the rope slackened, in trying to pull slower it jerked and ripped the towing eye out the bumper as i dont think the eye is the right one..

The result is above, after i stupidly thought id pull over. Which lead the the leftover rope pulling through the boot..

So after a weekend and £100 i had the dent sorted, badges removed and smoothed then i need respraying, im quite happy with the finish.

Then set about purchasing a nice and cheap ph2 172 rear. Went to see steve97 and was a very good trip over and great guy.

Got home and disaster..

Heard wat i thought was a snapping noise and then the car just died.. bit similar looking to couzens not so long ago and it feels like sh*t.

We toyed with fixing it ourselves cause i am totally skint, but we had no idea as it was up to me and my girlfriends dad again. He knows alot about cars but has never had to do a timing belt. but we thought ai might aswell.

So up the car went..

Then we started having a look.

Once we finally got everything out and the new belts we checked all the valves and fror any other damage due the the belt snapping, even thou it was unlucky for it to snap it only bent one exhaust valve so we start looking up. New gasket set came with the new valve and seals, so we grinded all the valves back in put it back together and turned it over. It all worked fine and now its had a full proper service :D

So im happy again, after all the hassle it only cost £140 and i had previously got a qoute for the belts to be done which came to £150 atleast.

Thanks for looking

I can't get my head around the boot damage, "The result is above, after i stupidly thought id pull over. Which lead the the leftover rope pulling through the boot.. "

yh isnt the rear tow eye behind the bumper and nowhere near the boot???

Ok well yes the tow eye is behind the bumper. But the rope we had was mega long.. So it cant just be left to dangle in the road. So once the rope was tied at 2 suitable distance we had to put the rest of it in the boot. So when the eye come out the bumper the rope was still in the boot and as a went to pull over my boot obv isn't strong enough to pull a car which meant the rest of the rope started to pull through the boot. I viol there was a knot too so when that pulled through it dented the boot
