A good top up wax on a budget?

No, unless its a top up sealant like C2 or reload. a sealant typically needs to bond to the paint, so won't bond well to a wax and will fail quickly

Ideally it would be a base layer of a sealant, with the wax over the top.

Tell you what, forget everything we've said. Pay for the crystal rock but ask to have a go at applying it yourself as you'll rarely get an option to use such an expensive wax as the application is where a lot of the boutique wax feel comes in. Then monthly top ups with zaino z8

Aucky I love Finis wax. I think it far surpasses HD in my recent use and testing on the panel at work. So much nicer to use. I'd say it'll be a bit less durable but we're talking over 6 months imo.

Hold on simplify this for me, if i get the CR what products should i use? If i get him to just use sealent what products should i use? I will be getting a winter protection package and the paint enhancement. If this makes it easier.

If it were me, and I was getting the CR, I'd be maintaining it with a PH neutral shampoo and a carnauba based QD (as the wax is carnauba) or a synthetic QD such as Meguiars Ultimate QD (poor example, there's plenty synthetic QD's out there I've just not used many). BUT, as it's winter I'd go for a strong sealant as a base and use either a spray sealant or any other synthetic or carnauba based QD. If you go with sealant as a base, you can layer it with wax or more sealant but if you go for wax as a base you're slightly more limited in terms of layering afterwards. Of course, just my opinion.

Okay any recommendations on waxes? I have spoken to the guy and hes more then happy to use a sealent as the base. I could always ask him how much extra then to add the CR after the sealent. If not whats good?

For an all rounder sub £100 Zymol carbon is hard to beat at £50

Theres plenty of options

For a completely mild PH neutral shampoo, Lather is good and so is dodo juice born to be mild. I don't tend to fuss too much if it's strictly PH neutral (as long as it isn't strong acid/alkaline haha!) but just opt for one that doesn't say "Glossing agents/enhancers" or "Wax protection" on them. Wax is a huge open market. I really like Bouncer's wax as they're British, seriously easy to use and remove, good protection, smell brilliant and good size tubs for the money. Auto finesse temptation is great and inexpensive. If you want something a bit more 'special' as said above, carbon is hard to beat.
