A New Tower... OR upgrade.. But what have I currently got?

Car  Hondata'd EP3 Type R
Hi, I'm thinking of upgrading my PC Tower. Im happy with my Dual Screen Monitors, but just after a nice new Tower.

Although old, my current Tower is (I Believe) still a decent spec.

Issue is, I know nothing about computers!! Im noteven sure my budget of around £300ish is enough to build/buy anything better than what I have, in fact I dont even know what I have right now....

Is there anyway I can find out what Ive got, so I know what Im buying is better?

Thanks

Thinking about blowing the budget, and buying the V15 System of Scan, with a few extras + a Legit Windows 8 its £600?

I'll post that info up next

Hows that?

HELP!!

I Randomly decided I wanted Windows 8. So I googled it and found I could upgrade and wipe my current set up of Windows Vista for just £25 via Microsoft. I want to wipe the current HDD anyway...

I downloaded the Installer, paid via paypal and this happens each time:

Any ideas?

Thanks

You need to install/enable the 'background intelligent transfer service' else it wont download. google it and you will find various sites that tell you how to do this.

that's not true. The upgrade version is £49.99, not the full retail version. Chances are he has OEM on his current machine which means the licence is void if its transferred to a new computer. A new computer is defined as having a different make/model mother board.

Holy batman, you're right!

Sneaky as its not that obvious.

How much is the retail version?

over £100 for the pro version I would have thought. The OEM is £104 but as he is not a system builder and wont be selling the computer on, even the OEM version wouldn't be legal. He would need the full retail version (which I cant seem to find online anywhere).

All sorted now, basically wiped 1.5TB of SHYTE at the same time, running nicely so far on 8. Just need to sort out my resolutions
