I just rang them for a quote and thought they were fooking s**t :dead:

Woman didnt have a clue what car i was on about...............is that a diesel sir, errr no

How many seats does the car have - WTF never been asked that before.

Normally give them reg number and bang they know exactly what car your on about, i had to explain what an integra type r is.


Then i was asked how much i brought the car for and i said whats that got to do with my insurance. car could be worth 7k and i could of brought it for 3k hows that got anything to do with insurance.

Then started asking for mods and i said its had a new exhaust manifold..........is that a full exhaust, no its just a manifold from the engine to the cat i said......... hang on we dont seem to have that available can you hold while i check with my manager........

I've used Aplan for the last few years and they have always been excellent. Infact this is the first time I've heard of a bad experience.

Also when I had Jap cars, CTR and highly modded RB5 no one else could touch them price wise!

yeah they do, dont seem well liked on DC2 forum though.

If your going to offer insurance atl east know something about cars in general that you are going to cover!!

Maybe i just got unlucky and had the thick bint in the office on the phone

Sounds like you just had a dosy bint on the phone. When I phoned for mine the guy was helpful knew what the car was. He couldn't beat my renewal quote at first but took my number and phoned me back 30min later with a better price.

Lots of scooby owners with A-Plan, I was and was happy with service. Prices were hard to beat also.

I think there are different A-Plan offices, and only some are well versed in handling performance cars.

They weren't very good when I got a quote either, the best they could do was £2000! My best quote elsewhere was £500!! Slight difference..!

They arent great on renaults for some reason, but then when you modify it them come up trumps. (in my experience)

However, their intial quote is never their best! I made a quote up last year so they could beat it. lol.

Supertouring is correct, there are different offices, I use Thatcham.

I am with them. They have a different phone number for Jap cars, so do not know if the people at the Jap centre are more clued up. But they have always been very helpful and seem to have known what they were on about with me.

I am with them at present but wont be renewing with them as again my policy is higher than last year but I have more years no claims, how do they work that out !!

I was with them when I had my impreza. Very happy with the service, miles cheaper than anyone else and not only that they let you mod the car.
My brother has his skyline insured with them.

PS: They definitely have different offices. I dealt with thatcham which may be their jap cars branch. Think they specialise in jap cars.

They have a branch down here in Bournemouth, its much easier to go in and talk to a person. Expensive for me though.

It is Thatcham I dealt with. My scoob was modded and few companies would cover them.
