A200 'no lens attached'

Just bought a Sony Alpha 200 which came with a Sony 18-70 lens.
But it keeps showing the message 'no lens attached or shutter locked'

The lens is properly attached so i'm puzzled.

Any one else got or had one and experienced this?

clean the contacts on the lens and camera...

As above, ive not had a problem with the A700 i use. However have had similar with canon teleconverters on my canon. Do you have more than one lens you can try?

the rubber on the end of a pencil is really good for cleaning the contacts. Just make sure you clean the camera with the body facing down or else you run the risk of covering your sensor with rubber crumbs.
