Aargh ive got a virus!

Securityuptodate.com is its name, random popups and changing ny homepage is its game.

Also get constant offers of virus scans.

Anyone any idea how to get rid of it(im not great with computers)

Mcaffee cant find it... :S

Nope. its a malaware type of virus if that makes any sense?

Just downloaded spybot, will try it...

This is my first computer, only had it a month, into outdoor sports etc so never bothered with one before. Bloody thing, lol

I got myself spyware doctor from USA £20 for year full updates etc cured mine straight away & nothing has bothered it since............i too have McAffe security centre & it didn't find any of the 100 or so trojans, adware etc etc that messed up mine..................

I have got ZoneAlarm Security Suite... Really good... catches everything...

Spybot found 38 virus type things that mcafee couldnt, but not the securityuptodate.com one, so gotta do that long winded process thing. bugger.

Make sure you fully update Spybot..... sometimes with brand new virus's etc manual removal is the only way, bloody annoying ! :dapprove:

for good protection. you want a decent up to date AV. avast is free and good. firewall configured properly. zonealarm is good if you set it up right. a decent browser. firefox is the best by far. any crap on your pc can usually be sorted by spybot/adaware/stinger as long as they are updated regular. iv had no virus's/pop ups/anything bad in years with all of those on my pc. (touch wood)
