Anyone around in the Aberdeen area? / whats the general banter?
Arctic 182 & PB 172
Well if you see a arctic blue clio 182 05 plate running about town which it often is i have a CS sticker on the rear window drivers side. That is me! Ive owned the car since April 2010 now and REALLY havent hung out with other owners at all and im pretty keen to. I work at Korova on Bridge street in aberdeen as the Pr manager and dj there a few nights a week.

Registration plate lamp bul not working (sorted)
Nearside front shock has negligible damping effect (got parts just waiting to fit them)
Bonnet retaining device inneffective (sorted)
Nearside front track rod end ball join has excessive play (again have parts I'll sort it when I do the shock)
(cat) Exhaust has part of the system excessively deteriorated (pretty sure its just a duff lamda but got a new sensor and janspeed cat anyway)
Rear brake pads have restricted free movment (sorted) < this is where I got stuck as when I removed one of the old discs the bearing came apart and stuck to the stub axle so had to cut it off with a gas torch
Offside front tyre thread depth below requirements (sorted 4 x hancook v12 ready to go on)
Front brake application uneven
Front brakes imbalanced (new pads, discs, fluid and braided lines to go on)
Has a few cosmetic defects that will be next on my list after I get it through an MOT and a good detail.

ahh right, no worries. Aye is a great wee car, just had 2 replace the manifold flexi pipes tho. Pain in the ass and not cheap, Back on the road now

I work for baker hughes.
I've heard there is an ex-ness motors mechanic working as a rs specialist in Inverness, the previous owner of my 172 used him, although I haven't checked him out myself yet.
Might look him up when my belts are due next year.

My car is currently at 43k miles.... don't think the belts have been done but will have a proper look through over the weekend...
Should i expect the hit of getting them done during the next service? Also, anything else?

same as mine mate, belts will need done shortly. Just turned 40k. If you have the money you should go to ktec and get the cams done think its about 1300 fitted, Obvs you have travel and accommodation on top of that but guaranteed good work from them. This is my plan any way haha

lol i love the car, just saying why not spend the extra money on the cams?? cams are 800 alone without fitting plus you get it mapped. So belts, cams map and dyno for 1300, Dont see why not .
