ABS light problem

My abs ring had snapped and I had a little ding against my fence when the cars abs didn't work quite properly, no problems with the lights at this point so I removed the ring and took the fuse out from the abs for a couple of weeks untill I managed to fits new ring. Brakes work perfectly well but but service light is on aswell as abs light,sometimes after a little while the lights go off but not when I get my Mot done hence failing twice,argh any one have any ( good ) ideas, Renault say re calibrate the computer but diagnostics first which I hate the sound of that as they just want lots of money. I have ten days to sort

A new reluctor ring should sort it. You'll need the driveshaft/rear disc though as aftermarket parts often don't work.

I thought removing the fuse upset the brake bias so the rears can lock-up first!?
