ABS problem 1.2 sport

My bro has a 1.2 sport and has a brake problem.He says that if he goes over some potholes whilst braking the pedal kicks back at him and theres no brakes. It happened a few times in the same place.He says its like the brakes just stop working.

Any ideas?
