ABS Rings ?

my cars getting a service today, and i asked to bloke to check the abs ring as i think its crack and he said i would need a whole new drive shaft to change it if it was cracked.
Is he talking b****cks or not?

He's wrong but its not a commonly known thing even some dealers cannot find that the parts can be bought seperate.
