abs trouble

Hi everyone I'm a newby on this site looking for advice on a problem I have with my sons Clio. Which he's abandon into the dad's drive garage for me to fix. It hasn't been on the road since last November as he dosn' t need it at Uni ( plus he' s more into his motorbike) Anyway sufficient to say I'm having a few problems with the abs. It went through the MoT in January and since then parked up outside in the snow. After removing the battery for charging it started straight up. All the dash lights illuminate on start up and then go out ( notice service light is on when ignition off but goes out when the engine starts. Drives fine but abs cuts in when braking(without the light coming on) there also a noise comming from the CTU (rear of fuse box NS door pillar) which seem to get faster as you the speed increase. The front brake discs are a bit corroded due to standing which I though may be causing the the problem so am going to change. The cut seems to bring on the immobiliser intermittently as the front windows and indicator /hazard lights stop working also. Would having the battery disconnected require a reset of the CTU and how is that done? Any pointers would be appreciated

Sounds like a signal error making the ABS module think there's a wheel locking which is making it modulate (hence the noise and pedal feel).

Diagnostics to see what each wheel signal looks like should help finger the offending wheel.
