Accelerator sensor

Cup is in the garage having a new knock sensor fitted, they've also informed me the acclerator sensor has gone.... is this a hard jiob to fit? and how much are they?

Yes mate, sorry about that

It was idleing at anything between 1200 and 3000 revs, they put a diagnostic check on it and it came up with the throttle sensor.... damn the fly by wire :dapprove:

the FBW (fly by wire) throttle pedal is probably pretty expensive from a dealer. Find someone breaking a 182 / 172ph2

Theres a specialist breaker in accrington and another called A5 salvage near milton keynes (dunno where abouts you are).

How do you know/can you tell the knock sensor is gone ? I've read that it could be killing to your engine if it does'nt function properly ?

same as any 2001 onwards clio with FBW (the pedal isn't, but the bit the pedal bolts to is)

i decided to do an oil and filter change myself (thought it would be good for the engine to get it done half way between services) and i must have caught the sensor under the filter.... the engine managment light came on not long after the oil change, i took it to Renault and they hooked it up to the diagnostic check....came back with a broken knock sensor and throttle pedal sensor.....bugger

I couldn't tell any difference with the broken knock sensor, ran just the same on super unleaded. I was rold by renault that it's not an emergency to get it fixed, needed to get it done at some point, but not urgent next day kind of thing.
