Some lass drove into the back of my brothers 172. Obviously needs a new bumper and painting, but just looked under the boot carpet to find this

I've heard chat on here before about write-offs if the boot floor is bent, any truth?
It's an early ph2 172 on 50k miles.

as above, it just increases the repair bill... which often causes a total loss. But its not gospel it's going to be written off if it's bent.

Easy fix on the boot floor Warren, nothing to worry about as such.

Give a quick look at both quarters for kinks, mostly the nearside one.

Any more pictures?

Gota love the amazing folding boot floor the clios have.

Cheers fella's. He's having it assessed tomorrow, decent bodyshop we know so they should do a good job.
Luckily the woman has been honest about it, kid took his belt off and she lost concentration coming towards traffic lights.

Cool, makes it go a bit quicker without all the arguments.

If there's anything about it being a total loss give me a pm i'll help you out.

Quick update. Had it looked at today by the bodyshop. After looking at it all, it's 50/50 wether it'll be a write off. If they can pull the dent out they'll repair the lot, if not it's a write off.

how much is his 172 worth mate? mine had a new boot, bumper, bootfloor/wheelwell, re-spray, and still didnt come to the 50% value of the vehicle (or it might of been 60% actually) to write it off.

personally, im happy with it, all new parts and he did a great job (was a friends business, not a random bodyshop)

It's roughly 65% the p.a.v of the vehicle.

It shouldn't be that bad Warren the bootfloor doesn't warrant replacing.
