acer internet 65mbs should be 130mbs, help!

this is doing my head in, when i first got the laptop it would sit at 65mbs, i searched on google and found a way to fix it so it done 130mbs, since then ive re-set the computer to how it was new. i cant for the life of me remember what i done to fix it, anyone know?

ive searched on google but cant find anything that would help me, last time i fixed it i ddint touch the router, it was on the laptop

I wouldn't bother trying to change it unless your comps on a network? Your Internet won't be anywhere near that speed

if i open the 'wireless network connection status' box next to speed it says 65mbs, and it should be 130mbs

Shirley you need to know what make the wireless card is??

Then you can search and change it that way???

I didnt think it could run at that speed?? :S I thought maximum was 54mbps with 802.11g. I know some higher spec G series cards can go higher though

802.11N with a theoretical maximum throughput of 600 Mbit/s.. and I do stress theoretical !

Theory is a wonderful thing.

Although I sat the other night going spare at my Virgin box before realising the reason I was only getting 10Mb/sec was because I was using a laptop with an 802.11b card!
