Jesus... I've been trying to keep out of here and DW for the last couple of months. I've got all the products I need to keep me going for a good while yet but now seem to have a shopping list with about 20 million items on it.

Thats from just popping in last night to see what was going on!

I thought I was getting over it... but oh no seems I've still got the bug!

Looks like the credit card might get a flexing soon, :S

How much a month do you guys recon you spend on detailing "crap"?

I used to just buy stuff on a whim, but now I tend to think I want a product to do X or Y and then find the best out there within my budget, doing this haven't ordered anything since September.

Having said that, when I do order it tends to be £50+

At the moment don't really need anything, except for some more shampoo, and no doubt more MF towels. Sometimes I do get carried away buying things I don't need - but nice to know they are there if I do.

Don't think I have ever bought anything that was rubbish or a waste of time though, just seem to have hundreds of half finished bottles and pots that I end up giving to friends as I will never use them, or to my old man to do his car.

Speaking of which, just after he picked up his new Boxster S I came down to find he had washed it with the mitt I use for my wheels, and was about to start mine "as a favour" - he was a bit offended I got annoyed he sprayed hose water up the side of my car too as it dried in the sun. Thank the lord he has a silver car!

Had another Zymol one earlier in the yr, 50:50, Purple haze and Pete's...

It all mounts up, granted i do a few details here and there, so it defo covers costs!

ive been compiling a list so that once ive used all the crap ive got at the minute i can buy everything i want in one go as it seems a waste to keep stockpiling new products without using up what ive already got.

Ah fair play. How is the Dodo Wax you have working out? Quite tempted to get the Blue Velvet hard wax for dark coloured cars at some point, although that would kind of make the 476s redundant which will make me Also thought about the Marque D'Elegance...and Tim is doing that winter combo...which for an extra £10 will get me some sealant and cloths...

Damn them all!!!

ive got the lime prime which tbh ive not used yet as not had any dry weather. but once ive used up my victoria wax ill be getting the banana armour i think.

Like i said in another thread, no convinced by all this separate winter seals and wax's! I'd rather stick to what i use through out the yr and keep her top'd up with Mothers. That'll be the job for tomo, I'm actually considering missing out my winter detail and just leaving it till march/April!

I could spend a fortune on cleaning products but I do try and hold back where I can. I got some 476 and buffing MF's coming tomorrow.

But as Sarah says, it's a sloppy c*ck.

I may agree with you if I could wash my car every week, but at uni its more like every 4-5 weeks so durability is a MUST at the moment.

I use the same combo on my parents cars all year round... basically AG SRP + Collinite 476S as I don't have the time to maintain their cars as much as I like!

With the Clio I like to chop and change. Still love P21S, but don't like the fact it lasts no longer than about a week! I'm using Dodo Light Fantastic at the moment which has descent durability and some tastey looks.

Think I'm going to leave it at the Dodo until next year and try my hand at some different LSPs. Need to get my hands on some lime prime as well...

really! Only takes me 30mins to wash my car, 20mins to spray wax...Less than an hour. Then again with the winter in full flow the nites a fcukin baltic!

Jesus christ thats quick! I find that I take double that on the Clio and I don't take my time!

With the ammount of wax and seal on the car and likewise on the wheels It just washes off, plus i don't drive my car in the pissin rain, (Steal the folks) and i gets washed every 2nd day, if not every day...

Sad eh!

LOL - I live in the sticks so get mud all over it, and do about 350 miles a week! Should see it at the moment, an absolute mess. Should give it a good clean this weekend with getting my exam out the way on Thursday.

Wish I had the time to clean my car more frequently but find work gets in the way! Plus the shorter nights doesn't help!

I have phases - not ordered anything for a few months now - I'm clean man, i'm clean. But then have other months where everything runs out or I go mad and buy loads.

As to what I have spent in the worst of months I would rather not say !
