adjusting h/brake cable

That's confusing, I did look inside the car, didn't see anything obvious, then tried removing the heatshield to take a look but its not coming of easily.

Its under the middle heat shield bud, long extension and a 13mm socket.

I used my 1/4 drive stuff.

Ive lowered the h/shield a bit, the back of the car is raised a bit, now bearing in mind im overweight, old and not very agile I just cannot see anything to adjust, I can see the cables, where the back 2 joins the front one but no obvious adjustment.( I hate this car)

Cannot see anything remotely resembling a threaded rod, but thanks for all the replies anyway

Sorry tried a photo but its useless, all blurry. I will take the complete hand brake out to see what I can see, trouble is its so hot in the car in the sun.

Been under it mate, is the adjuster under the rubber boot by any chance?, that's the only place I haven't looked yet.

If it is under the boot i cannot reach it anyway, So hopefully tomorrow I will remove the exhaust (want to take it of anyway) then remove the heat shielding completely,

No mate, its just a little bit back, towards the rear of the car.

If your removing the exhaust and shield it will be easy.

Thinking about it im sure i removed the heat shield fixings to gain access.

I did too. Pretty sure it's under the centre section as I removed my centre exhaust mount to gain better access as well as removing the heat shield.

Well, removed the exhaust/ heat shields and had a good look today, and 10 out of 10 mr bloke. the adjustment is inside the car on one side of the hand brake. Didn't see it yesterday as I was on the wrong side.

I've had some that adjust in the car on one nut and some that adjust under the car. I don't know if there is a proper pattern to as and why?

I am wondering if early ones adjust in the car and later underneath, mine only has one lambda sensor which I believe makes it an earlier model.

The ones that were inside I had were X reg, under car was a Y reg but had one lambda, I've never had one with two lambdas

Mine is a Y reg with 2 lambdas and my adjustment is underneath the car.

I apologise on being wrong on your particular car as I thought all was underneath. Nice to know that there are differences though.

That's exactly what I've found over the years. It's the same handbrake as drum models on the early ones and then they changed it for some reason.
