Admiral Insurance - rubbish

Slight self ownage..

I called Admiral today to tell them about the remap I got done a few weeks ago - they cancelled my policy right there and then - 'we can't insure any cars with engine modifications'.

Managed to get reinsured thru Adrian Flux for way cheaper in the end.. result!

So the moral of the story is.. insurance company first, mods second.

They did insure re maps when i worked there 3 years ago. i think it depends on what percentage it increases though.

They are useless though, they where a nightmare when i claimed and i worked for them they even sent an investigator to my house.

they are cheap for a reason

What mods can you def insure with them or can't you?

I am thinking of wheels and exhaust but now this post has gone up I think I am going to have to wait until I can go with someone else....

When I first got my ins with them I told them about the Pipercross Viper - said it was OK but they wouldn't pay for a replacement if it got damaged.

I get the feeling that it depends what phone operator you get as to what you get told.

Wheels and Exhaust are fine matey. Although they only replace with standard parts.

Like if you crash and damage the exhaust they will only put a renault one back on.

oh and ring 9-5 unless you want to speak to india

Greenlight are good with mods as well

I can't vouch for admiral, but elephant (sister company) were fine with mods. They have a list on their website I was only adding on an air filter though

- as mentioned they only replace aftermarkets bits with standard though if you have to claim etc.

Cool will give them a ring just to check before I get them ordered and go from there....fingers crossed I get a nice operator though lol

I got quotes with Admiral and Elephant with my mods (exhaust, recaros, lowered) and they were fine with those. Guess it depends on the type of mod.
