Admiral Insurance

  Porsche Boxster987S
To cut a long story short , ive found my LY i want to buy , ive got a quote from Admiral which i can finally afford but . . . .

I have heard from another few members of other clio sites that they also had got excited about seeing Admiral offer a "decent" quote for a 182 but when they went to pay or phone for their confirmation of that quote , they wre then told it could not be processed due to being under 21??:S:S

Has any1 had this experience or could shed any light on this for me please. Any feedback would be great because its the only thing that could possibly stop me from buying my new car. (hopefully not)

Thanks

I found admiral absolutely spot on, just dont ask to pay monthly otherwise the quote dramatically changes for the worse

Have a look at some of the other Admiral group companies such as Elephant and Bell. It's surprising how much of a difference they could be.

Agreed - my quote for the 197 went up from £400 to £580 by choosing to pay in installments. Needless to say the Credit Card took a hit and I paid it in one.

Cheers.

^ heh, mine went up from £1500 to £2200 and the credit card couldn't support the single payment :( I got them down to £191 a month luckily but still they were over half the price of other insurance companies

Some companies dont charge for installments. virgin dont iirc although they may have a on screen price more when you add admiral's charges on for paying monthly they are often cheaper.

I have found them brilliant...have'nt had to claim yet and that is where you find out how good they are!

  PH1 172
Was 20 when I bought my 172 and got insured with Admiral and still insured with them now for a 2nd year until start of may when I am wanting to change due to certain mods Admiral won't insure

When I was looking at insuring cars, quotesd for 172's where around £1500, quotes for a 182 was £2500.

Whatever you do, don't use Endsleigh, quoted me £323k for a 182 :D

19, 2 years NCB.

  Clio 200
good company until you have to make a claim

i crashed my corsa at xmas slid on an ungritted road off a kerb snapped the driveshaft, needed new subframe, wishbone, o/s suspension set up, disc etc total damage 2200 for a daft wee bump on a kerb. i phoned them to recover the car which they said would cost me 170.00 as it wasnt at my home address? told them to stuff it phoned the AA and got them to take it back to my house. Meanwhile the cops had came down to see what was happening and arrested me for an outstanding warrent in my name which turned out to be identity fraud. and let me go no breatheliser etc. admiral repaired the car then a sold it for the 172. 3 weeks later got a phone call from them telling me they want the breathaliser test, name of the cop dealing, and all the details again as it was more than likely i was drink driving. after telling him 5 times so far the details and the reason i wasnt breathlised they said they will persue me to recover their costs as they are sure a was drink driving. Its now going to court to settle it, i had 3 people in my car, 2 other cars stopped, and the police statements to back my argument up. and this was back in january still waiting to get a court date from them but needless to say am looking forward to it
