Advice for buying used 172??

Hi guys.
Going to look at a 2001 172 on about 80k on Saturday. (Only some service history), do you all have any advice on what to look out for on a172 for a first time buyer like myself?
I can see a few older threads, but they're nearly 9 years old, could do with more up to date info

Recent cambelt at a specialist is the major one to look for. Every 5 years or 72k. If not, budget £600 to have it done

hi jme. depends how much youre paying. if youre after one to love - pay out extra to make sure the belts have been done beforehand - £2k max imo for something mint on a 172. if youre after a shed to get to work in and dont care if it blows up (like my workhorse lol), sub £1000 all day
