Advice needed please ..

Just a quick question .. I had a replacement xenon fitted to my car about 5 weeks ago and found a part sitting on my engine :S

Found out that this part is the cover for the back of the unit and would like to know if the full unit will now need to be replaced because of this as it will have been exposed to moisture etc .. :dapprove: as I don't want to have problems in the future e.g when the warranty runs out ..

I have been told it should be but I thought I out to check cause I don't want to go in and kick off only to find that this isn't the case ..

Any advice would be great or if you can point me in the right direction of where I might find out would be even better :D

It should be ok chuck. I would notify the dealership of their mistake, put it back on and then see how it goes.

1. If it works forever then hurrrah
2. If it breaks then you've notified them they left it off and they'll have to replace it as its their fault.

Job done. :)

The problem I is that I have had a great deal of hassle with the dealership in question and I am concerned that I if I ask them to make a note of it on the system that they just don't bother and if and when I have any problems I ahve no proof :( this is the same dealer that damaged my car and I have still not had a phone call from them ..

I would Write out what issues you have and notifiy them of your problem on paper, take it to them and once they agree, get them to sign it.

I did this when i was quoted and extremly cheap (for renault) service price and worked a treat as they tried to increase the cost the next time i was in lol.

yeah to stop water and dirt going in, all new parts from renault have a 12month warranty on them, so don't worry about it

when they're not 100% sealed units

So put it back on and hope it f*cks up before the 12 month period ;) lol

Not worried just like things doing right :)

No soy a seguro de lo que él hablaba. No entiendo una palabra del español.

Una letra al distribuidor como antedicho dicho debe hacer el truco.

p.s. It should say sure, not insurance!! ;)

Translation:

I am not to insurance of which he spoke. I do not understand a word of the Spanish.

A letter to the aforesaid distributor as must make the trick.

(altavista babelfish ;))

If its just one of the covers that goes on the back of the unit i'd just pop it back on and leave it . As said above . They are not sealed and only there to stop dirt getting in .

As you've experienced before dealerships are very helpful and love to bend over backwards to keep a happy smile on our faces , lol .

I wouldn't worry about it , if it goes titsup then it'll be covered under the 12 months warranty for new parts so they will replace it .
