Advice needed please ....

Right so as some of you may know my engine sh1t itself and left me needing new valves, belts, gasket etc with a dose of skimming through in for good measure. Now im not mechanically minded if something goes wrong its sent to the mechanic, i pay the bill and all is well but im a bit p1ssed and suspicious at this one.

2-3 weeks after getting it back from the mechanics the engine managment light comes on and the engine sounds like its about to blow up. I pull into a garage and it turns out theres fcuk all oil in the car so I ring the mechanic "it sounds like its burning oil get it up and il have a look" so it gets sent back up and he reports theres no oil leaks or burning that he can see and that its running on 3 cylinders, he changed the plugs and said if the oil levels go down as quick again its a broken piston ring !

Now im pretty sure valves tie in with pistons in some way so Im thinkin hes fucked up the work and this is a result but no hes claiming its the bottom end this time and absolutly nothing to do with his work !!!

I feel like im being had big time here, he could tell me any old rubbish and who am I to argue something I know nothing about.

What does this sound like to you ? Advice needed

Could this be a direct result from the original prblem ?

Or could this have happened with the top half of the engine was off for 5-6 weeks while he was p1ssing about fixing it ?

Aye mate he fcuked about and fcuked about again loosing engine bolts and lifters and god knows what else, it was to be the end of our business relationship but it looks like im back with him at least til this sh1t is sorted

Not better getting somewhere else to do it at his expense Tony? I'd be checking for other damage if I had been running without oil for any amount of time.

Yeah im gonna bring it to another mechanic to check over, if its a result of the work on the head its goin back to him if not im just gonna have to pay whatever it is and take it on the chin


Is there damage being done if i keep topping the oil up and burning it off ?

Probably not brilliant if its burning it off continuously, but even driving a matter of metres with no oil will destroy the engine.

Probably might have worked out handier with another engine from the start, hopefully isnt a big problem when you get it checked
