My trophy's paint needs some attention, i've got quite a tight budget and i'm not going to wash it that often. I want a low cost solution which will give the best results for capsicum red.

I am looking to purchase the following

DAS-6 (is the pro worth the extra?)
Some clay and quick detailer.
something for removing swirls and oxidisation (is megs ultimate compound any good?)
A glaze (ive heard prima amigo is rated highly)
A wax
some pads.

I dont really know what to go for so any advice would be helpful.

I'm no expert by any accounts so I'd wait for some of the regulars to post lol! However, I was in a similar situation to yourself so hopefully can help a little :)

With regards to the DAS-6 I have heard it's a great starting point and that the Pro is worth the extra due to increased power. I was originally going for the DAS-6 Pro myself, but following advice on here opted for the EP801 offered by CYC (http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polis...ar-ep801-compact-rotary-polisher/cat_100.html). So that might be worth a look too!

Clay - I went for Zaino Z18 and used diluted shampoo as lubrication. I have tried the Meg's equivalent and it doesn't compare IMO.

Glaze - I haven't ordered any yet, but Amigo is the one to go for it appears so that's what I'll be getting.

Wax - What sort of thing are you looking for in a wax? Looks, durability? and how much are you looking to spend?

Pads and Polish - I only wanted something that would remove light swirling, but I've had some success removing more severe defects too. I went for the Chemical Guys Hex-Logic pads, I got green, white and blue. As for polish, I got Menzerna PO106FA and PO203S.

Hope this helps!!

If I was you, I'd save some money and get a member off here to machine it for you for some beer tokens.

With the money you've saved, buy some very good quality protection, and some good quality washing products for the future.

You asshole. X

No idea.

But less than your original plan. Lets be honest, you're no keen detailer, and buying a DA is going to be a bit of a spend once/waste of money for you.

I have to agree with Daniel. That route actually suits most people on here. It's actually more fun looking after your car after someone does it right. :)

I'd take it to Russ TBF, if you want to do it yourself I can give you a list of "cheaper" products I use on mine that I like.
