Advice with what should be done 172 mk2 (service)

I am sorry if it's been asked a hundred times before.

My GF has a mk2 172. She has owned it for a year and a it is on a 52 Reg. was registered on the 1st Sept 2002.

She bought the car with 38K on the clock. and bought it from a main dealer who did a 36K service.

The car is now at 47K and is ready for a service so i looked through the service invoice, they replaced brakes ect but did not do the aux belt.

I am not taking the car to the dealership for the next service. Do you recommend that i have the aux belt done now as a matter of urgancy?

Or should i just let the mechanic look at see what he thinks.

Forgot to mention when the car starts after is has been sat a while is sounds like the fan belt is slipping a bit?

if the belt has never been changed id get it done asap. it will want a cambelt in a few months as well so might as well do both.

be careful with the price of cambelts tho. Renault changed mine but luckily it was when i bought it but they recon it would have cost me £900
