After A Respray (No its not done yet)

Jus need some advice on what i should do after i have had my full respray

1. sent off my Log book to change the colour

2. Tellin the insurance company that its changed colour once i told to collect it

so i just need advice on taking care of it! i was adviced by GTI Girl and her knowledge on paint work that i should drive it carefully as the paintwork needs time to dry

how gentle do i have to be?

would a hose clean mess it up?

would hard rain at 70mph doin ne damage?

Cheers for ne advice u can give

Al

ive never had it done, but personally id keep it out of the rain and mud etc for a couple of days. try and keep it in the garage overnight, specialy if its frosts in the morning.

the paint will be soft for a while anything up to or even a week. just take it steady and dont think of polishing it for a while. i know what its like. never mind they will see it on the 21st.

if its been done in 2pac rather than cellulose and oven baked then it should be as dry as it ever will be. if its cellulose from what i remember its two weeks they recomend but you can still get it wet and drive it as normal just dont let it get too dirty and if / when you clean it just do it gently and dont polish it

anyway ask your spayer he will be able to give you better advise

y dont polish it! dont worry i aint gonna do it coz i dont know how ne way!

ill ask em once i bring it out, jus my driveway is about 50 yards of gravel so that should be fun :(

i told you that you should drive slowly for the first little while cos of stone chips the paint will still be soft

you cant polish it for about 3 weeks leave the paint time to settle and completely dry

you can wash it very gently no power hoses just normal garden hose or good ol bucket hehe that does no harm

and no sharp objects hehe!!

vix :)
