After market steering wheel and airbag light

  Clio Sport 172
I've read both the tutorials regarding removal of the Ph2 steering wheel and aftermarket replacement.

Neither make mention of any method of making the airbag and serv light go out.

Is this something you just have to live with, with a Momo wheel?

U need to put resistors in the airbag conectors then u wont have any lights on the dash
U need 3.9ohm and need 2 of them, about 15p from maplins

you can get them took off via a computer by telling the car that isnt used and will go but will cost more

So do you not have to link the two connectors together with the resistors? Or are they kept seperate? I would have thought they would have to be some sort of electrical connection/resistance between them.

Anyone got any pics of what they have done?

Nope. Just put the resistor fully into the plug so contact is made at the bottom of the plug and that will make the lights go off. IIRC you need two resistors in total, one for each of the plugs.

Thats rite, 2 needed, 1 for each block as shown below

I have put a 3.3ohm resistor in each and the light is now intermittent. Comes on if i'm driving for more than 15mins :(

Not checked the resistors yet, but its weird because they go off when i switch the car off and on again.

The resistors in the seat i've never had a problem with, never caused a light. I was told by a member off here that the steering wheel is more temperamental though.

I'll check the resistors have good contact soon, but any advice?
If it is bad connections then i dont want to go chopping up my car, anyone know if a suitable plug can be bought to make up with a resistor and give a good connection?

Mine came back on after a month
I used a bitnof the metal from a spare resistor and packed that in the block basically to give a yight secure conection.the resistor must of simply wiggled out losing the conection
Hasnt been back on in almost a year now

I'll check the connections then, would be better cutting into the wires really but dont want to butcher it up.

Mine are taped in to f**k though, surprised they could move

Mine were aswell mate so dont pass it off because of that, i had s**t loads of electric tape thats why ithought theres no way they could come lose i just thought it was tough the lights back on
I got anoyed so had a go and it worked so they must of got lose even though i used loads of tape

Mine often come on and go off again, and because of the cold weather my horn button is a bit loose, so I just wiggle the wires around and it goes off, so I presume the resistors are a bit loose :)

Do you know what the colour combination of the 3.3ohm resistor is?

I've bought a multipack from Maplins and now I have no clue (even having read the chart) what ohm is what!...
