Aftermarket headlights - help?

Hi I've got a mk2 phase 2 1.4 clio

I've changed the headlights for eagle eyes, with hid dipped beams and normal high beams.

My issue is that the hid's aren't bright enough, I've even bought a new set with very little improvement.

Is there a difference in voltage or something between sports and non-sports that would affect hid's?

Has anybody got any info on common faults on the angel/eagle eye headlights? Maybe some help on the position of the bulb as that seems out aswell...

You've probably bought rubbish HIDs. HIDs direct do a kit which I highly recommend. Also anything excessively over or under 5000k will not be as bright.

As for aftermarket headlights, quality can be highly variable.

Oh, and I forgot to mention poor alignment doesn't help either.
