air bag and service light

seem to get a service light and air bag light come on when the car has been sitting in the heat all day, doesnt do it when its a cold morning or winters day, just when the sun has been on my car all day in the car park i get in to start and up comes the warning lights, any ideas aparts from parking in the shade.

Mine has done exactly the same, came on a few days ago, while driving it went off then back on again and now is on all the time. I've been meaning to hook it up to my diagnotic machine to see what's going on, I will let you know what I find.

I haven't noticed anything to do with the sun or shade. I was told it's a common fault and to have a look underneith my seat at the wires so i'll hopefully get to the bottom of it tonight.

I have the same prob as Gazebo, but have tried fiddling under the seat at the plugs etc, but i havent got a diagnostic machine, so am hoping someone finds the fault and i have the same lol

crazy mine has been doin exactly same, i was thinking it was something to do with the sun but not sure cos mine come on at night also. the past few days the light has stayed off, but it was randomly coming on wen i started car then would go out.
played about with the wires under seats, another cure is turning the passenger airbag on off.
some people say it has something to do with slip airbag squib iirc

ok well i have noticed my seat is a bit wobbly, as if its not clicking in properly, get the odd squeek here and there from it, so wondering perhaps something is loose, well im getting it diagnosticated soon lol, so if any updates guys i will let you know or if you find anything i appreciate it if your let us know, thanks for the comments at least im not the only one lol

Hi all i had same problem it was wires under passenger seat the renault fix was to solder the wires .

its a common fault...if u have backseat passengers...obviously you move the passenger seat forward so they can get in.....moving the seat is what moves the wire. just jiggle the wire & the both lights should go off (service & airbag)...it happend with me

Ahhh....i have this problem but wiggled the wires under my drivers seat.....didnt even think of the passenger side....duh!

today mine has got considerably worse coming on every minute or so then going off very annoying, does it when its stationery and on the go im thinking the heat but what would make it do that.
All the connections under seats are fine and tight and i dont want to go down the route of cutting and soldering the wires 'read many threads on this' so next step i think is the airbag squib thing think rory 182 had this changed and it worked for him if not hopefully a diag will point it out.

Try spray some wd 40 it connectors worked on mine . Do drivers and passengers

did you actually unplug them and spray inside the connectors do you need to have battery disconnected to do this

my hasnt come on since now people, i just think its the warm heat lol, my exhaust nows pops in the morning on first start up, so another problem lol

Was at garage wen they did it battery was still connected and diagnostics machine was plugged in . Disconnect battery if want prob wiser but i didnt hav no probs . Yer was all over connecter inside
