Air cond leak?

had my air cond topped up in the summer, within a day, it was empty. not impressed the the place that did the job because i would of thought the leak detector should of found the leak.

is there any, 'typical' places for the gas to leak on a phase 2 172?

No - can be anywere although most common is the rad. Only way to check is with a dye test.

One of my solid aircon pipes has broken off, its held on with a cable tie, It was fine last summer and I've only ever taken the car to the same garage since.... could this be caused by the cold weather or have the garage I taken it to broken it and not told me........
