Air-Filter

thinking of replacing std air filter with a panel filter either k&n or itg, anybody recommend either of the above and best place to get them?cheers.

I have the ITG filter in my 172cup and at the time of fitting thought it seemed more responsive, for what they cost its probably a worthwhile mod!

ITG from me, £45.00 delivered for the 172/182/Cup

sadly im pretty certain they dont make one for the Mk2 1.4

hi kev, i've got 1.4 16v dynamique, i'm (hopefully) fitting the k&n panel filter tonight, i chose k&n mainly because of their long history making filters, as everyone has said performance of each panel filter doesnt vary between manufacturers, i'll take some photos tonight :)

I have a K&N in my 1.2 16V, only because my mates in the trade and got it for me on the cheap, only cost me 22 quid.....:D

I bet they make sod all difference.

Steve

I acutally found for urban driving you can't notice the difference but at Motorway cruising speeds my Clio feels a little more responsive when I put my foot down.....:D

hi kev, i fitted my panel filter last sunday, forgot to take pics for u tho doh! anyways, took it apart again and took some photos for you.

performance wise you aint seeing no gain really, it does seem more responsive at higher rpms (4500) its nothing major tho, it does sound different when you floor it tho, sort of a deeper note, k&n is approx 2cm thick. Fitting wise its just 2 screws, lift the filter box thingy off take old filter out, put new filter in, screw it all back up and the job a guden :approve: .anyways heres the pics hope they help you decide
red circle shows 2 screws that need unscrewing, also its a good idea to remove the rubber strap further towards the air feed end to give u more access
