Airbag and serv light

Hi guys, got a mk 2 1.6 clio, I had some sport seats in my old 1.2, changed them to the 1.6 yesterday. The original seats have different connectors for the airbags to the sport seats so I had to cut the wires. This has triggered off the airbag and the serv light, if I get it plugged into a computer and get them wiped off will it be a re-occurring fault and the lights just coming back on so I'd have to remove the bulbs or will they stay off for good?

Jesus, honestly why would you bodge something like that? The light is most likely on because you've put seats in to the car with a different equipment level and the SRS ECM is seeing unconfigured hardware so is making you aware that the system is unable to work correctly.

In short it needs configuring via CLIP or you can carry on and go the route i'm sure you're more likely to take which is bodge it. This is why the new MOT laws need to hurry up and land IMO.
