car looks nice, what exactly is your question? lol, about the airbag/service light?

have you got the standard or different seats in it?

if there standard then the wiring has probably worn under one of the seats, it will need reconnecting

i want to no what to do lol :( iv got the sport seats, had them wired up and the airbag light didnt come on till no*head went into me, then replaced the drivers seats as that was the airbag.. just wondering if i need to get a airbag sensor or something that sets the airbag of?

ah im with you, i dont know if theres any sensors that would need replacing

im guessing clearing the fault did nothing?

only issue with not sorting it is the airbags wont go off if the lights on, what sort of code reader where you trying ?

That was using Texa (I have one)which is pretty good on Renault but I normally use Clip.

Looking at the bottom fault you have a permanent code for crash data as the airbag has been deployed. Bad news is this either needs crash data removal or a new controller.

I personally dont trust crash data removal but is cheaper option. Need the fault code numbers really.

lol good point. sure its not the wiring frayed under the seats ? just some coincidental timing with your accident? bit of a pain in the ass to find tbh

try a proper code reader ? what do you mean by it wouldnt clear ? it just kept coming back or literally wouldnt clear

This new controller is needed iirc Mick at diamond motors a trader on here knows a fair bit about these from what i remember reading.

As above, even with CLIP, the fact that there's an impact detection code present means it will inhibit the ability of the diagnostic kit to clear any codes from that SRS ECM so the SRS MIL will always be illuminated. Also because of this data being present the ECM is scrap so needs replacing or sending away for the crash code to be erased from the EPROM (CLIP cannot remove the crash code as Renaults process demands the computer be replaced with a new unit though I've *heard* DDT can).

The SRS ECM itself is not "coded" as such to the car but they are setup to the vehicles specific requirements with certain hardware and trigger lines in mind (ie. is equiped with a drivers airbag, passenger airbag, curtain airbags, pre-tensioners, etc). All Clio II's use the same series of SRS ECM and so are interchangeable meaning if you took a unit from a '172 of a similar age it *should* just plug and play and be okay (Assuming of course it hasn't got any impact detection codes stored to) but you do have to be sure the setup is the same as you may find the lights stay on still until it is reconfigured or, worst case, run the risk of setting something off if it's setup wrong.

I have a great relationship with a local specialist Renault breaker who lets me test these things before I buy them for a customer so I know it can be used but I personally prefer to follow Renaults process and replace the SRS ECM from a good scrapper that's not got crash data stored and re-configure it with CLIP to the new vehicles setup and VIN rather than have the EPROM tampered with but each to their own.
