Airbag light help

Hi just changed the steering wheel on my 172 cup, fitted the correct 3.9ohm resistor to both connectors. I'm still getting the airbag and service light come on, any ideas why ???

i have checked the resistors are making contact and are the correct value.

Swapped the wheel on my phase one no problems but this has got me stumped.

Might sound silly, but if you replug your old airbag in, does the light go off again?
(Just to eliminate any other possibility)

because it was disconnected the fault may be stored and may have to be put out on diagnostic computer

That shouldn't happen though unless its some other fault. My airbag light came on when I swapped wheels. Wiggled the resistors and it went off..

Had a look and found that the cable to the air bag must have got caught and damaged. So I have ordered a new squib/ clock spring to sort it.

i had the same problem, i just bought a clio of 2002 and i saw on the internet that might be the cable or the connector in the pretensioner of the passenger side
i push and pull twice and the problem dissapears BUT
keep the car off and the key in hands when doing this, because you can damage the airbag
