Airbag Warning Light.........

Hi guys, about to pick up my new X reg 172 but the AA survey I had donewas all clear apart from picking up on the airbag warning light being constantly on. When I test drove the car (last wkend) this wasnt the case, does anyone know of any faults with the airbag system in a Mk1 172? Im part exing my VTR which has a similar problem due to a loose connection on the seat belt pre-tensioner - to fix this all I needed to do was push the connection back in and hey presto the airbag light went off after re-starting the car - is the problem with the 172 a similar issue???

Your help is much appreciated, thanks Stephen Mc.

You did try the Passanger Air Bag switch? The keyed switch is on the passanger door by the window button, and allows the passanger air bag to be turned off when transporting children in safety seats.

Stephen Mc,

Ive had this prob. However corrected it under the passenger seat. Thares a white, male/female connector. Just wiggled it and pushed it back together. Nothing since...

Hope this helps!

This is one of the most common recall probs with new clios, Renault will fix it for free, they just lift seat up, seal connectors together and then tie back wires out of the way,

Its just caused by movement of the seat,

else you could try welding them together and do away with the connector altogether...this is what my local renault agent here in singapore did for me FOC...
