Airbags and the Body Control Module

Car  Renault 5 GT Turbo
Hi All, if the airbags were removed from a Clio 3 RS200, for say a track car, would the dash throw up some kind of error?

If so, can the UCH (Body Control Module) be modified to turn off all the airbags?
