Airbags

Crashed my clio last night into a kerb at 30-35mph & the airbag in the passenger seat went off, if i get a new/2nd hand seat with a xcomplete airbag in it will it just bolt in, plug in & work same as the original or will i have to get reanult to rewire it etc??

Also wrecked the wheel, tyre, possibly the wishbone, chassis leg, suspension strut etc, all fudged as they say!!

Nope once an airbag has been activated you need a new airbag computer which are £300~£50 depending on differetn things.
Plus then you need Renault to rest the computers etc.

i did the same! 100 quid including vat and fitting for a seat from a breaker. 170 for new computer plus 60 fitting from renault, rest the computers etc for that price, new wheel and tyre 60 from breaker and thats all i needed!

Got it back on the road, cost me £450 to sort the mechanical side of things, needed subframe, antiroll bar, wishbone, alloy, tyre, hub, driveshaft boot & new brake discs (they were on there way out anyway). Got a price from renault of £614+vat+labour for the airbag & the sensors etc. Think ill be going along the lines of a 172/182 interior from a scrappy at £400 then get renault to reset the computers etc
