airfilter change help

bought a K&N filter, but have no idea where to start changing it - someone kind enough to point it out on the attached pics - I'm useless when it comes to these things.

Its the yellow bit in the picture you need to remove the filters under under.

Just look all round it for the clips.

I don't think so but doing it will help you find where the clips actually are.

I'm stumped, still can't find any "clips" - does the top of that box come off or the whole thing come off.....anyone ?

bump - no screws, no clips.....still have no idea how this thing opens up - surely someones done it before (mk2 ph1 1.6) ?

from the picture it looks like the top just pulls off and clips its self but i could be wrong :S

Pull the rubber stretchy thing off the top, and take it out the way, Then pull the coolant pipe off the side (pushed into the housing on the side of the airbox) then just pull the whole thing towards you, its only pushed onto the throttle body housing. Easy as that. You should be able to see the orange filter now, standard. Then you'll see 2 screws - sideways (Philips, or they can be T20s) undo them, and pull the top down, then it pivots in the bottom, just pull it out.

thanks tom - at last did it....here some pics of the job being done.....excluding finding out the my torx screw driver in my boot is stripped and then finding the smallest allen key type thing that fits and dropping in the engine bay.....

air pipe removed

torx screws undone

oe filter exposed

pull out oe filter

place new one in

apply all important sticker
