Alarm installation

  Renault Clio 1.2 dynamiq
Hey guys, im planning on installing an alarm on my Clio 04 model 2 door.

Im thinking of something like this

Would self installation be really complex? i want to install my self in order to avoid paying extra costs, has anybody succesfully done this yet?

Also, what sort of alarm would you recommend?

If you're getting a Thatcham approved alarm, you have to have it fitted by a Thatcham approved dealer so he can give you the certificate to send to your insurance.

I'm looking at the toad Ai6106 too with a few extra features (remote start etc.), there's one on eBay and the guy gives free fitting. Costs around £290 with the remote start and he comes and fits it at your home or place of work.

Edit: The guy's shop thingy is called soemthing like 'Safe-N-Sound' - might be worth looking it up :)

As above, if you want to declare the thatcham alarm to your insurance, it'll have to be fitted by a qualified person. etc.

I've just had a Toad a850 cat1 alarm installed by safe n sound. It also does the coming home lights and shuts the windows for me when i lock the doors. And i dont have to have an extra remote, just uses my original Renault remote. Cost me 300 quid in total. He doesnt advertise this particual model on ebay but if you email the seller he will most prob fit it for you!
