Alarm question

Hey all been on CS along time but not posted much!, at the moment i've got an 08 twingo, and as standard the car has deadlocking if you press the lock plip twice, i want to fit an aftermarket alarm but am i going to lose this function, or will i need to deadlock it before arming the alarm

I had an aftermarket alarm on my 182, as it didnt have one.. The new alarm plip does the central locking and the alarm, so kind of bypasses the renault plip for the central locking...

Yeah i gathered it would bypass the original plip, but i'd kinda like to still utilise my deadlocking, unless the alarm will interact with the cars deadlocking feature, this is the first modern car i've owned, not as simple as my R5s electrical system lol

The Renault raid devise still works on mine... i can still lock it with the renault plip, it just wont activate the alarm..

Yeah raid is different to deadlocking, deadlocking basically means if they smash the windows and pull on the handle it will still be locked, i reckon i should be able to arm the alarm which will still lock the car but i'll probably need to plip the original plip twice for deadlocking to work

Ahh right, sorry didnt fully understand what you ment... prob best to speak to an alarm specialist, sure they can work a way round it for you,

Yeah will speak to my fitter, the alarm in question has a pager on it, so if the alarm goes off while i'm at work i can check on the car, lotsa little s***s hang around the carpark sometimes

Deadlocking is probably more use than an aftermarket alarm, the standard immobiliser is more than good enough too!

I need a pager alarm though as the car got vandalised a few months ago, so this alarm has proximity on it aswell and i'll get a chirp on the pager if some little s**t even breathes on it
