Everytime I remote lock the car, the alarm tone beeps constantly.
I blew a fuse when trying to plug in the blue plug for the cd changer, i lost all power, so i unplugged the blue plug, changed the fuse, i've got power again but the alarm still beeps, any ideas?
Sounds like you've got a pin switch fault somewhere, car thinks you've got a door open. Try locking with a door open and see if it makes the same noise. If it does, find the plug on the end of the pin switch, and disconnect it. Try to lock it again.
A pin switch is the switches on the body that the door shut against. When the door is open, it completes the circuit to switch the interior light on etc. You should be able to disconnect them, one at a time and re-try. What red light, the door warning light on the centre of the dash above the stereo?
the red car logo with the doors open that display on the dash, it's strange that these faults have only occurred since i blew the fuse? surely this would have been a fault independent of blowing the fuse?
Sure you havent disturbed anything behind the dash? Tried plugging in the original stereo and re-trying? I'd say its just coincidence that its happened at the same time, but worth putting it back to how it was and trying.
i have put the original one back in, as i think it was the cd changer that shorted out causing the fuse to go, but it shut off radio, clocks, elec mirrors, interior lights and climate control.
so the oe is back in now but i haven't connected the cd changer, which hasn't been working since i had the car (4 months) and i can now see why it was disconnected!
And its still not working? I'd say try just disconnecting the battery first for 10 mins then reconnecting. Check all related fuses. I honestly think you've got a pin switch fault.
since i have discounted the cd changer and replaced the fuse, i have power to the radio and clock display, need to check the other bits but it was on my lunch so didn't have chance.
i had a simalar prob when i blew a fuse but mine was due to an aftermarket strero i basically blew a 20amp fuse an the car thought doors were open when i was locking it hence the one long tone
