alarm

  valver
my alarm on my valver keeps playing tricks on me, it will work for a couple hours then not at all, is a right pain as i cant start the car, i got a new reciever fitted and on the same day i sealed up the aerial (to stop the leak which screwed the 1st one) then it stopped working straight after, the garage i spoke to said i had the wrong reciever but this cannot be the case as it works when it feels like it, does anybody know what could be the problem?? im getting really annoyed now as i bought the car in november and have had it on the road for 7 days and have alllready put £800 into it. im thinking about just taking the immobiliser off but this is something i would rather not do and plus i dont know how, what would anybody suggest. i have thought about a new alarm system but am having trouble finding somebody to do it and cash is a bit low at the moment, i need this sorted asap because i got an mot due next month and if it fails then something drastic is going to be done. thanks for reading i know its tedious.
oh and the circuit board was a bit corroaded when i looked at it but i had it cleaned up and the light on it flashes when i plug it in.

pm'd you mate

personally id do what i did, get a new system fitted, even with a new board etc, some day down the line your sunroof will leak and bugger up that circuit board, and so the saga will continue until you get a new car lol

did you have to take the old alarm/immobilser out yourself and did you have to take the car down to a workshop or was it a home visit??
