That'll be brilliant thanksSure mate, I've got what can only be described as an essay of an advert written out for it. I'll send it later when I'm back from work :smile:
Yes mate, just clocked 160k other week @makavelliAmazing she's still going strong mate?!
Omg 10 years I still remember it like yesterday! The zip ties I used for the rads were probably more secure than the French clips haha!oh and the damage the badger did over 10 years ago.......still there, both rads still holding strong for now!lol!!

Sounds great, and it's good to hear of one being saved from the breakers. It deserves a proper project thread, folks would be interested in following your progress with the car and competing.Re: 'When was it like that?'
It was like that from 2009 to about 2011 ... I think. Its an interesting story how I acquired M100CUP.....
My background is that I've sprinted and hillclimbed cars for about 12 years now - I had a lot of success in a very fast Caterham Superlight 'R' but wanted something more docile in my old age. My retirement was fast approaching so I sold the Caterham / trailer and decided to buy a small, hot hatch that I could drive to events, have a bit of fun and then drive home.
I went to K-Tec to have a look at a Clio 197 that had a nice suspension and brake upgrade - not cheap, but in very good condition and well looked after. When I was there I had a long chat with Sean Martin (the main guru) and he asked me what my 'basic requirements' were. My list included -
Sean at K-Tec gave me two options -
- Reliability (as I was driving to and from competitions);
- Competitive (against non-turbo, non 4 wheel drive cars);
- Something that wasn't too stupid or harsh for the road;
- Something that made me smile when I drove it.
1) The nice 197 with the suspension / brake upgrades (very sensible for the road, but a bit boring) ...Tough decision as both options were similar money but at the time the 182 seemed to have more / cheaper tuning options and of course was a lot lighter. So i went for the Racing Blue 182. The shell of M100CUP had been sat around the back of K-Tec for about a year and the car looked as if it was destined to be broken for spares - it was covered in about an inch of dust and was in a bit of a state. It was a non-runner - it had been turbo'ed but the engine had blown up and the car needed rebuilding with a lot of TLC to get it back on the road.
2) For the same money they could build me a 182 based on a 'wreck' they had around the back - this was M100CUP.
The spec now as built by K-Tec is basically -
Overall - a completely different experience to the Caterham - and I am still getting used to driving the Clio
- 50,000 miles base car (was 48,000 when I bought it);
- Brand new K-Tec Renault engine with 197 cams (208 bhp);
- Jenvey Throttle bodies;
- GAZ coilovers;
- Quaife Diff;
- Wilwood brakes with Mintex pads;
- K-Tec sports CAT;
- K-Tec exhaust;
- Short shift gear lever thingy (pain in the arse);
- New Speedline 2118s;
- Toyo R888Rs;
- Carbon K-Tec seats;
- New four point harnesses;
- Half roll cage;
- OMP steering wheel;
- Air con delete
- Loads of carbon trim from the previous owner.
