Should look nice! Where'd you get the axle from?

Have to let me know if its just a cosmetic upgrade or if the braking is any better, this would probably be the one final mod to mine if its worth it.

  Lots of Alfas
Are you fitting it yourself? Let me know how hard the trailing arm bushes are to get in.

rear axle came with it from cars transplants

why were discs fitted to the sport models then edde?

i guessed they were more effective than drums?

They were fitted for numerous reason.
1) Helped differentiant the cars. It wound't have looked good the WIlliams etc had rear drums and the newer faster sport didn't. Disk all round is the mark of a sports car often as racers have it.

2) With serious track work the drums would crack unless harder compunds had been used.

3) The bits already existed for the WIlliams etc so wasn't a huge cost implication.

One good way to tell is to try get the back out on a car with drums vs disk drums are so much easier.

mini-valver

Giles, PM me when you do it with details as I'll be looking at doing this when mine comes back purely for looks TBH, lol

ah cool, i just assumed discs were better.

so a pointless mod other than for looks then?

For 99.9999999999999% of people yep The'll always be one who would use disks and there abuility to cool on track work but not many.

Disk and drums both have there advantages.

Easy enough with 2 people, although the car had only done about 5k so no rust/all the bolts virtually new, old one was easy to get out. That was on axle stands aswell.
