ALLOYS - WHAT SIZE

Ive just bought a bog standard Mk 1 16V Clio and wanna put some alloys on it. I have seen lots of clios with 17" on them but when I go into the garage they tell me that once Ive lowered my required 35mm the 17" will not go on there without some serious arch modding. Could someone plse confirm if this is so and if they have any idea of cost to do the arches. Also if only some 17" will go on there will you tell me what ones and what tyres I will be needing.

17s go easy with that drop mate !! Just make sure you get the right offset !!

Without a doubt that garage is chatting sheeeite!! lol

17"s on a valver fit fine even with a 35mm drop no arch mods will be needed!!

COOL! Thnx for the info guys. Funny thing is, I went into bout 3 garages and they all said the same thing but I trust the opinions of people on here more

Yeah garages are sh*te !! THIS is the best place for any info on clios !! I was told that i needed a new PAS rack when all it was , was the column. The common clio fault that ive been told about loads on here !!

Well this is my valver dropped on 17"s!! Never measured the drop as on coilovers but guessing its 35mm or more!? Either way all arch linings are intact and no rubbing at all!!
