If you use the front and rear pre-outs for an amp for the speakers, then you cant use the head units internal amplifier.

Pretty stupid really, coz i wanted more than 4 speakers originally - now ill have to get another 2 amps to get more than 4 speakers.

^ you sure - i was running the rears WHILE having the preouts from the HU for the fronts, rears and sub going to an amp - as i was useing the fronts and rears for the fronts - so i could still use time correction on the fronts with the amp bridged - if you get what i mean

But that is on the 7894rb, you can choose to have the internal amp on or off - i now have turned it off as it imporves SQ.

As far as using the sub pre out goes - use it - you can then control the sub level ect - and im not sure of the modle but i have heard that some moddles - eg the 7893 had 3 preouts - but only the sub was a 4v preout - not sure baout the 9815 tho

Mines the 9813R, but its pretty similar to the 9815. I havent got amps connected up to the front and rear outputs yet, but from what ive read in the manual, it tells you that you are able to run off the head units internal amp, or switch over to the pre-outs.

Dunno if ive got it wrong?
