alpine cd changer won't fit alpine head unit

  KTM 990 SD / S60 D5
Fitted a alpine head unit the other day (CDA 7893R) and was a bit gutted to find no ai net connection on the changer, have been told I will have to get a new changer as no lead can be supplied and the chips in units won't work together,is this true.

Old but awesome;) the alpine changer dos't have the old type or new type either, its a square clear plug like a connector block, its the Renault standard unit.

So you're trying to connect the standard Renault cd changer to an alpine unit? It'll never work. Need to get yourself a new changer.

The old MBUS changer connection can be adapted to the alpine implementation (Round multipin) but you would then either need to find an MBUS to Ai-Net converter (http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_product.php?partno=KCA130B then youd have to fabricate a cable using pinouts) to control your existing changer. As JR says, new changer is better, plus the modern ones are MP3 changers.
