alpine cda-9857r head unit radio display

Hi,

I just bought a 53 plate Clio and I'm wanting to use a different head unit in it (Alpine CDA-9857R), I know however that I may lose the steering controls and stereo display.

Is it possible to keep it using this head unit? In the manual it says there is a connection for the 'Vehicle Display Interface Connector' - is that what I need? Will I need a specific cable for it?

There is also a 'Steering Remote Control Interface Connector' apparently.

I've attached a picture of the connection I think is what I need - confirmation of that would be great.

Losing the steering controls isn't the end of the world but I would at least like to keep the time and temperature (as I've read I may just get this).

Any help would be great, thanks!

Ah, possibly not what I'm after then!

​I had another search around and found this:

Seems like this is what I'm after, emailed the seller and he said as long as the Clio has a separate display and has 'tunerlist' on the front of the factory head unit, then this will work.

That above cable will keep your stalk controls working with your new unit. The display will show the temperature and time even if there is no HU installed at all.
