hi has anyone got the apline cde 9228RB head unit - or one similar to it?

Im having a few problems installing it, as there seems to be no way stopping someone just pulling the head unit out with ease if they got a screwdriver to slide it out- as there are no pins that click into place unlike the original stereo which has 2 on either side, and which require screwdrivers to get it out.

Am i missing something here!!!

Also i noticed that some of my copied cds do not work with this head unit whereas they did with the original = is there a way of getting around this??!?!?

to be honest alot of sterios can be romoved with a screwdriver cuz im for ever removeing mine so that soundz normal 2 me but not playin copied cd hmmm weird

I used to have an Alpine and there was one "bolt" either side of the unit - hard to describe but they looked like the top of an allen bolt. If you put a narrow screwdrive inside the head of this and push either up or down, it released a catch and the stereo slid out. Might be the same for yours.

Yeah its the same for most alpine units, can easily remove them with a screwdriver, but then theyre useless without the face!

sounds about right, its just that they dont clip into position, they just slide in and out pretty easily.
